Jodi:

Hello Old Kings Families!! My name is Jodi Lass and I am your Old Kings Elementary School PTO President for the 22–23 school year. It has been my pleasure serving the board over the last three years as communications and co-president. My husband Larry and I have two beautiful children, Milania who is nine years old and in fourth grade and Lawrence Jaxson (LJ) who is seven years old in second grade here at OKES.

My kiddos have been attending OKES since VPK. Flagler County has been our home for the last 19 years. After 9 years I closed my ladies shoe store in Palm Coast & became a stay at home mom. My husband Larry runs the family business La Piazza Cafe in the European Village. Once my kids became of age for grade school I decided to devote my time to volunteering. My whole heart and dedication goes into raising my kiddos and being a voice for them. The PTO was a perfect fit to get super involved with fundraising for our students & faculty as well as coordinating exciting school events. Being involved on the PTO has been a wonderful asset with creating relationships with our school families & having their full support. It truly takes a village to raise kids!! Looking forward to a fun & successful school year.

Priscilla:

Hi, I am Priscilla Goma, your Vice President of the PTO Board. I have two amazing children who attend Old Kings Elementary. Noah is in Kindergarten and Laila is in 2nd grade. We moved from New York 2 years ago after my husband Sherif and I decided that Palm Coast was where we wanted to raise our family. Last year was our first year at OKES and I started attending PTO meetings as a parent. When the opportunity to join the board was presented I jumped right in. It has been such a wonderful opportunity to work with teachers and administration.

Prior to having my children I was a special education teacher and spent 13 years in the classroom. I have recently started working with homeschooling families and providing support for children with special needs. I have seen the impact parental involvement has on children as both a teacher and a parent. I am very excited to meet you all and have this opportunity to work together. I cannot wait to share all the wonderful things we have planned for your children at OKES!

Sarah:

Hi OKES family! I'm Sarah and I am in charge of Public Relations for the PTO. I have been on the board for many years and have held every position except treasurer. I am sad to say that this is my 9th and final year with Old Kings.

I started volunteering with the PTO when my son Tyler was in Vpk, I would bring my daughter Lily (2 years younger) with me to volunteer. Tyler has just started his first year at ITMS as a 7th grader and Lily is finishing her last year at OKES as a 5th grader this year.

Being in the PTO has allowed me to make friends and build bonds that I never would have had the time or chance to make being a single mom of 2 kids in and out of sports along with working full time. I am so happy to be spending my final year on the board with so many wonderful and creative people.

I'm looking forward to a great year with great new ideas! Can't wait to see you all at our first meeting on September 7th at 4:30pm in the media center!

Jorika:

My name is Jorika Steyn and I am so excited to be part of the OKES OWLS family! This will be my second year volunteering for the PTO and my first year as a board member. My daughter is in first grade and has been in the school since Kindergarten. We are originally from South Africa, but have been in the USA for almost 23 years and have lived in Flagler County for the past 8 years.

As a former teacher, I know how important it is to support our teachers as parents. What a privilege it is to help and support them on our children's educational journey.

I work as a tennis instructor for the City of Palm Coast.
